I would say this place is alright. It's under construction but the current state is pretty dated. Slides are dingy and worn out, pool bottoms chipping, boards loose/sticking up on the walk up to the slide. The pavement is very coarse and hard on your feet since they do not allow any water shoes.
I liked that we could accompany our little ones on the tube slides. I liked that they offer a discount for younger children.
The kiddie slides spray water rapidly at the top and my toddler was terrified to go down the first few times, I wish they would turn that down a bit. Nobody was at the top of the slides to help as I waited at the bottom to catch my child since the kid at the bottom was just sitting on the deck. It would have been nice to have an attendant up there to also supervise the kids from sliding down too soon. I also wish they had a few of the kiddie tubes with the bottoms in them for my youngest to sit in on the lazy river. The website mentions a "kiddie lazy river" but I did not see anything like that, not sure if we missed it somehow.
The employees are mostly your typical nonchalant 16 year olds. We tried to get dinner at the concession stand but were told nobody there was over 18 so they could not cook. I asked the worker if there was an ice cream shop and she said "umm I am not sure" and walked off. We ended up finding it on the way out just to be told their soft serve machine was broken which was disappointing.
The girls working the gate and tops of the tube slide were awesome though, wish I had gotten their names but they made it so fun for my toddler. They would let her pick forwards or backwards and let her count down while they spun the tubes around before releasing us down.
This place has a long way to go to becoming a tourist destination but in the meantime it's okay for a local cool off! We will give it another try and hopefully watch it grow as the new owners settle into...
Read moreWorst place ever to book a birthday party. We got there and they couldn't find the receipt that I had paid we had to wait over an hour in the parking lot for them to get a manager on the phone . Then after that fiasco they said your canopy is down there. No direction given - the very rude girl who was laughing the entire time while we waited ( she thought the entire thing was hilarious that my 11 year old daughter was having her party delayed with all of her friends with her - my daughter was so embarrassed ) so we were directed to find the park manager, I could not find anyone , so I went to the shack where they sell food and the cook tried to get in touch with the manager -- never showed. We still did not know which canopy was for us to put the cake and presents and no one to help us when we finally got the hot dogs and lemonade the buns were beyond stale and the hot dogs were barely warmed up. I had to ask 4 times for my daughter to get her t-shirt that I purchased - I was finally told by the rude blonde girl I cant have it until we leave . This all happened yesterday 8/27/17 - I have tried many times today to call and speak with a manager no luck . I gave one star that I didn't want to give but had to in order to post this. I am going to drive there after work today to see if I can speak...
Read moreWe wanted to bring the kids somewhere fun and not drive a couple hours and we had heard this place is under new management now so we thought we’d give it a try. Well, we were pleasantly surprised. There are several large water slides and lazy river to enjoy and our 3 year old had a blast on the little kids water slides and splash pool. The go karts we’re pretty awesome, especially for the price and the giant zip line is unique and exciting. There were little to no lines anywhere! Though our family didn’t do it, the other families seemed to enjoy the miniature golf course that is also included with admission. The concession stand was good, but they also offer the option to bring in your own food and drinks, which was well-appreciated. I hadn’t been here in some years and I could quickly see many improvements and upgrades. You can tell the new management is working hard to enhance the experience at this place. We all had a great day without breaking the bank and it’s just down the road from B-villle. If you’re looking for a large busy amusement park then you should drive down the thruway because this isn’t that type of place. If you’re looking for some water park fun and go-karts, without the crowds and extras to spend money on, then Thunder Island...
