We took a family hike on Thanksgiving Day because we were staying home for the holiday do you the pandemic. It was beautiful, a great hike. The only issue we had was that as we were hiking - my husband stepped into a bucket buried into the grass alongside a path. My memory isn’t clear on exactly where we were, but we were walking alongside a path because the path was flooded, and my husband fell into this buried, uncovered bucket, overgrown with grass/weeds so it could not be noticed, and twisted his ankle pretty badly. As we kept hiking, once we knew to look for them, we realized there were several more alongside the path. I’m sure the buckets were put there for a purpose, but I’m kind of concerned about the fact that they were buried with no marker or indicator to warn people to stay away. If one of our kids, or even if I myself had fallen in instead of my 6’2 husband, I’m afraid there could have been a more severe injury. Other than that one issue though, we love going to Bubolz. It’s beautiful & peaceful and a joy to visit. My kids really like the dirt playground :)

A beautiful preserve with nice wide trails and lots of wildlife. Plenty of parking and restrooms at the entrance. Theres also a unique playground with Hobbit holes nearby. Entry is free, though they do accept donations. There are quite a few trails here that twist and turn, and some that intersect. You'll find an incredible variety of birds and plants, and also turtles, frogs, deer, butterflies, and bunnies. The bugs weren't too bad for an area like this, which was pleasantly surprising. There are fruits and berries growing wild here, too, though most weren't ready to consume. The turtle pond was very relaxing, and we had a couple turtles pop up to say hi. The birdsongs were wonderful, as well. There are several viewing towers here and boardwalks/bridges. Some of them are in desperate need of repair. Well worth the visit! We'll be back again someday, I'm sure. There are numerous Pokestops and gyms here.

Bubolz Nature Preserve was everything we could have wanted for our wedding and more. From the very first picture we saw online, we fell in love with the venue and knew that it would be perfect for our wedding. Throughout the planning process, everyone on staff was extraordinarily helpful and did everything they could to bring our vision to life. They are truly dedicated to making your day exactly what you want it and do so with exceptional kindness and positivity. We had our ceremony in The Pines site and our ceremony in the Great Blue Heron Hall. Both sites received many compliments from our guests and are truly beautiful and unique spaces on their own. I could not recommend Bubolz Nature Preserve more for any event. It is simply stunning and will make all of your dreams come true!

Big parking lot for parking. No wait to enter and no line. Free entrance although there are donation boxes that I saw on one of the trails. Very nice nature preserve with nice trails and playground park for kids. Went around 6pm during the golden hours for senior pictures and it wasn’t too busy. It’s a great place for family photos or any kind of photography. Highly recommend it. We didn’t walk on too many of the trails but some that we did were very nice. *warning-bring bugs spray because we were attacked by tons of mosquitoes and a mom with her kids were leaving and she offered us her bugs spray since she knew we’d be out there for awhile. She was so kind and it definitely saves us from getting eaten alive. So thankful for her.

I absolutely love waking/ hiking here. I take my kids on the Four Seasons trail and Poplar trail. Both are 1/2 mile loops with good views and can bring a stroller if it's not muddy. I like to hike the Deer Run trail which is 2.5 miles and goes through woods, wetlands, woods and also has 2 different outlook towers good for pictures. You cross ponds and creeks. It's just a beautiful walk. I highly recommend all the trails. Lots of parking, bathrooms are open and clean and trails are well groomed and taken care of. The last few days I was there they were muddy in a few spots but you can still hike them. Just wear shoes your ok with getting muddy.

We had our wedding reception here 7/31/18. While there were a few things we'd have liked to have done (I'm telling you, Amber, if you're reading this... Flowers on the moose!) I understand their policies don't allow exactly everything to happen. But what I can tell you is that everything went off without a hitch (aside from the decorator we hired-- Sweet N Easy Events-- don't hire them.) Bubolz really does do their best to be accommodating, and the place makes an amazing backdrop for a reception. Partnered with the Marq, I'd say everything was as near perfect as anyone can hope for. Thank you guys!
