I honestly love this park/campground and have been coming here for years, but this year with new management, we were constantly harassed by park Rangers and the DNR, and it left a bad taste in my mouth. Will not be coming back due to this. It makes me sad because I have been going there for years. They tore down my tents while I was in the process of paying for my site, and then tried to take my site ticket off because the tents they tore down and threw on the ground weren't set up. Do better by your paying community members. I also pulled a patch of invasive Wild garlic mustard and the park host came to ask what I was about. Very courteous person and I wish he was the only one we had to deal with because he wasn't trying to do damage, or harass us for new rules being enforced. My whole family loves this campsite, but we won't be coming back. When I camp I don't want park Rangers and DNR officials harassing...

This is a really great park and campground.

Nicely sized campsites with electric (30 amp max). Pads are packed pea gravel and some are pretty level. Also, some sites offer a very nice lake view.

Plentiful trails for hiking and mountain biking. Also horse riding trails if you have one. While there is good parking for those with horse trailers there is not horse camping.

The vault toilet facilities are new and we'll kept. However there are no bathrooms with running water and no shower building on site. There are places to get drinking water near each campground loop.

If you have an RV, be prepared to pay $7 (as of 2021) to use the dump station, even if you paid for a campsite. Also be prepared for the dump station to be closed unexpectedly.

If you have a power boat this is a good lake for play. Lots of fishers on the lake as well. There is a launch fee, daily...

Did three days of tent camping with my wife and children. This is a beautiful park, a very nice layout, lots of space at the campsites, a playground, a beach, a challenging disc golf course, and lots and lots of walking paths. Things are very, very well kept here. This was our first time here and we really loved it. Even the deer are nice. They would eat out of your hand if you held out food. The only negatives I would give are that there are no showers that I'm aware of, and that the beach was closed due to bacteria in the water for parts of the day. Cleared up later in the day so the children could enjoy it, but you had to be aware of the green water. Neither of those things is really on the campground itself however. So, top rating, would totally recommend others to enjoy this place, and I'm looking forward to bringing back the...

Haven't been here since before I moved to Florida. Not sure why it took me 8 years to get here since moving back. This is a big, gorgeous park. There is a lot of beach here, plenty of places to fish from and put boats in, many shelters, grills, restrooms, camping areas, and a playground. Even though we came late in the year (the Mead side of the lake seemed to have lost the majority of its leaves already), the views were still outstanding. Didn't see any deer, but there were plenty of birds and small critters running around. This park is well worth visiting. There is currently a pretty bad blue-green algae bloom. If you bring a dog, make sure to keep them away from the water. There are a few Pokestops spread throughout the park. We did not see any gyms. We had very weak signals here, though.
