Jabe Pond is such an awesome place to kayak and camp. It's way out in the middle of nowhere and you have to drive up a twisty hill that is unpaved to get there. Sometimes, it can be difficult if you have a vehicle that does not have enough ground clearance. However, if you get up there it is so beautiful and peaceful. It is completely wooded around the entire pond. There are campsites for people who choose to camp there. No running water or bathrooms, it is a place that is all about being one with nature. Fishing is allowed and sometimes you'll find some cool wildlife to photograph. I've seen osprey, mink, great blue heron, and loons. It is one of my most favorite places to kayak because it is so beautiful. When I first started visiting this location it was a hidden treasure and I would often find myself being the only one there. That was fun, but perhaps a little edgy as cell phones do not work. In recent years it has become more popular. So popular that the limited parking area fills up.

Nestled in a forest, Jabe pond is a very beautiful place, the water there is very clear. It is a carry in carry out location, please don't litter. It is a perfect place to go paddling, fishing or swimming and there are about 8 campsite around the shore. There are also a few islands which you can explore, one island has an old fireplace on it which I was told is all that is left from a ranger cabin back in the day. The access road is very rough and at one point you will either need to stop and walk the rest of the way or you will need an all wheeled vheicle, a little car will not do it! We used Google maps to give us directions, dont. It had us go the wrong way, if you are coming from the south, stay on 9N to Watts Hill Rd which will turn into Battle Hill Spur then you will see the sign on the left for the pond.

This large pond/small lake is sublime. It's a terrific place to kayak, with several small islands and a nice beach area to explore. By appearances, it also looks like a very good spot to fish. Road access to the Pond is indeed very rough, but that doesn't seem to keep...
