A stunning covered span in the most picturesque setting you could ever imagine. Her build type is known as a Long Truss, which is very similar to a Howe Truss, with the primary difference being that the Long Truss has more substantial verticals. She was built in 1859 and has been serving the wonderful town of Hamden, NY, ever since. Of particular interest here is the boat launch next to the span complete with an awesome "keel rail." I also had a fondness for a very old white paper Birch that had seen better Summers, but was still queen of her field.

Beautiful spot. No bathroom, but great views for picnics, photo sessions, eco therapy, bird watching and fishing.

Hamden Covered Bridge is a beautiful historic bridge in an idyllic rural setting! It has been marvelously restored using traditional methods and designs. Loved seeing the wooden dowels used in the beam construction! There is also a nice parking area adjacent to the bridge with a river...

Classic old fashioned covered bridge. You park out side and walk through to see how it was built and enjoy nature. There is light traffic across this. Those that actually live on the other side use this. It doesn't connect to any major highway. It's...
