First, bring cash or checks because you are going to want to buy some cheese! The owners of this farm clearly love farming and making cheese. When you arrive if the owner isn't already in the cheese shop she will no doubt make her way down from the farm house in short order to give a tour and explanation of the entire cheese making area and process. After you will undoubtedly be invited to sample every cheese they have in stock so you can decide exactly what you want. The prices are extraordinarily fair and the cheese is magnificent. Keep in mind that all purchases are either cash or check only so be prepared though $10-20 should be plenty unless you want one of each, then bring maybe $50. The cheese is made with the milk from the cow's that are kept on their farm just up the hill from the cheese operation and the family has been making cheese for the last 20 years. Bottom line, if you are in the area (or even if you're not) it is worth making a trip to visit this Catskills gem!

Family owned and run cheese-making from cradle to grave. It starts with the cows, who display there on the property. Ms. Brovetto came down from the barn to meet us at the shop. She showed us the cheese-making process in the back and then cut us samples from freshly made cheeses. She had been a nurse for decades, and uses the same care and compassion in making and promoting cheese. She explained that the cheese is made in the style of German tilsiter. [It cannot be called that unless made in that area of Germany.] Some are aged. Others include caraway seeds in the traditional way, dill, black tea, raspberry tea, among other flavors. She said that the cheese is best at room temperature. It was delightful visit that anyone who loves fresh cheese should make.

Awesome place! We were greeted by a large pig named Sprinkles upon arrival. Although she seems to be lacking in eyesight and hearing at this age, she gave us a warm welcome and took many pictures with us. I am terrible with names, so I cannot recall the name of the human who helped us (I'm clearly an animal lover, lol). Anyways, she said she was raised making cheese and is now in charge. She was wonderfully kind and assisted us in finding some delicious cheese. I had to wait until I arrived home to open my cheese, but it was well worth the wait. Yum!
