We had such a fun day at the beach and pool today and we can't wait to go back !! Super clean, nowhere near as busy as - say - the TOH lido beach. Lifeguards at the pool were on POINT. they were great.

Pool got a little busy but nowhere near as busy as other TOH pools, which we loved! And the beach part had TONS of room. I'm going to go back alone just to lay out and tan because it's so pleasantly quiet !!

We are hewlett residents so we paid $5.50 (kiddos under 10 were $2.75!) it might be slightly more for TOH residents who live outside of east rock or Hewlett, but not by much. If you're not a TOH resident make sure you go with someone who is otherwise the cost is $30.

No rafts allowed in the pool area (even floaties) but the pool only goes up to about 6 feet. We had a couple non-swimmer kids with us and they had a blast in the low end. There's also a really cute kiddie pool/splash pad area for the younger ones!

I can't believe I didn't know about this gem sooner! It was wonderful. Small, easy parking, easy to get around. There is apparently food on-site but I don't think it was open when we were there so we just headed to Lazy Lobster for fish and chips after our day at the beachpool (the term I coined for this amazing spot!)

Cannot wait...

This review is all about the pool:

Pros: clean and spacious pool not too crowded lots of lifeguard handicap access to the pool reasonably priced entry fee

Cons: you have to bring your own chairs. Not really an issue just wish we knew this ahead of time. you CAN NOT have floaties in the pool. Must make sure it is a real life jacket for children that buckle in the front and dont have arm floaties. the smaller pool/splash pad area in cement. So if you have a young a child who is runner it is an issue.

Obviously I listed a lot of pros. The reason I gave this pool a 3 instead of 4 stars is because they do not have the life vest rules posted anywhere. You cannot be prepared for the pool with your child unless you go in and they tell you of this rule. It would be nice if they posted requirements at the entrance so parents can be made aware and prepare for a day at the pool. It is disappointing to enter and then be made...

Thought my kids and i would be able to enjoy a warm swim in the water.... you can't!!! It's muddy, dirty water is not meant for swimming. And even if you tried, the water doesn't go deeper than 3 feet or so and that area is roped off into just a tiny area. On top of all that, they charge you an arm and a leg just to enter the beach, if you even want to call it that. It does have a nice pool and park for the kids....i already am a member of an awesome pool club where i live with a much bigger park, and lots of other amenities so my visit to hewlett point park was a total waste of time and especially money. BUT if going home with huge welts obtained by getting bitten by their many mosquitoes is your thing, then this is the...

Nice beach but a few problems 1. Too many sea gulls!! Don't bring food or if you do keep it safely guarded 8 of them already came too close to me and I didn't bring any food. 2. It isn't the cleanest. There's so much seaweed on the beach with bugs in it. Plus the bay is pretty disgusting to go in but pretty to look at. Also beware of the sea gulls poop while on the beach. 3. Saw a limping bird Pool is nice the life guarded had to yell at someone no belly flopping but whatever Over all not bad but not the worst I was a resident so I can't tell you much about the fee if you aren't.

Lovely, clean, and peaceful location for members of the town of Hempstead! If you don't like to deal with the crowds at Jones Beach or Robert Moses, then this is a great (and nearby) alternative! There are pools in addition to the beachfront, and because the beachfront is not directly on the Atlantic Ocean, the water is fairly calm (except for the occasional passing boat or jet-ski). There is a covered dining area, so you don't have to eat sand with your sandwich, and outdoor showers to clean off before getting into your car.

This review is for the learn to swim from the town of Hempstead, we chose this facility from the list and we were so happy we did. My daughters had an amazing teacher, Maddie, for level 3 this summer session one. Their comment about the teacher were: "she explains it in a way I understand what to do," "she comes to me when I am doing it wrong and show me again," "she is so nice." My daughters love her and her teacher style. Her enthusiasm and charisma to teach are so visible. They learned a lot and had fun while doing it.
