Not from New York and this was my first time going to this beach. It was a great experience. From the parking attendant, lifeguards to the concession staff 10/10. The water was a bit chilly, but the sand was clean. I felt very comfortable sitting and playing on the sand. It wasn’t to crowded, of course we arrived a lil after 2pm on a Saturday. People were very friendly as well. The only negative experience was the long walk from the parking lot to the beachfront. However, there is a nice walkway which allows easy passage over the sand. I still give it five stars!

Nice field, less crowded, and not a bad walk to the water. You park and the sand is practically right there. Has a table area, bathrooms, shop and concession stand with food and drinks including alcohol. The pretzel was soft and hot as soon as I got it but the 3 minutes it took for me to walk back to my spot it was hard as a rock. Couldn’t eat it, breaking it apart was ridiculously tough and to pay practically $7 for that is a waste. Unsure how the other food is, drink wasn’t too bad but if I’m paying $15, I’d like to taste that there’s alcohol in it.

This used to be a dreaded Beach due to the distance between the parking lot and the water. However this year the state parks department has installed a very helpful blue walkway from the parking lot to the water that makes walking dragging a chair rolling a cart a dream. The day that I went the sand was white and the water look like the Caribbean.

It's becoming harder to enjoy the beach walkways with all the people on bikes, ignoring signs to yield to pedestrians. Signs are posted everywhere to stop and WALK bike on sidewalks. Not only do they continue to ride but at speeds as if they're in the Tour de France race. The attitude of people on bikes "Rules Don't Apply." They also ride onto the scenic overlook...
