Jones Family Farm — Attraction in Town of Herkimer

I was on a drive from Rochester to Boston and wanted to find some homemade cheese off the beaten path. And this was everything I had hoped to find. After traversing quiet backroads off the thruway, I pulled into the driveway and was greeted by an excellent view and a very well-kept, honor system based farm stand. I picked up some cooler-friendly blocks of cheddar and after making it home to try, it was well worth the detour. My only regret is not getting more of the offerings available, but I make the the drive fairly often so I will make sure to keep a tab. Oh boy , Oh boy! This is the best "farm stand" in the world...even though it's not a farm stand. (Always a pleasant place to stop and load up on farm fresh items! see new pics from a recent visit) You can get all the fresh farm items you don't find at your typical "farm stand", get it? I met a couple members of the family during the Little Falls Cheese Festival, buying multiple items like goat cheese and garlic marinated feta. Very friendly and knowledgeable! I loved it so much I went to their farm store to buy more about a week later and met another member of the family and spoke with him for a while.
