In all honesty, I absolutely love the track! It's very clean, there are more than enough seats and the track itself is huge and is set up with a high wall set up! Upon arrival, the area provided for parking is rather massive. On occasion, during special race events, the entire parking lot is filled but never seems to become packed to the point people cant park in it any longer. However, in situations like that, leaving the raceway becomes a pretty lengthy task to complete - it may take a good hour sometimes just to get out. (sort of like a Darien Lake situation after a popular concert...)
As far are prices to get in go, sometimes coupons if promotions are in place but not always. Tickets already to begin with are a bit pricey. By no means are they outrageously priced at all. But, expect to pay $20 per person for general admission and $15 per senior citizens per general admission. (I'm not too sure on child's prices for GA) Now, when special races occur such as Crash-A-Rama, the bus races, trailer pull races, or any of the Monster Truck Race/Event (any event similar to that as well) prices do adjust higher and sometimes become (in my opinion) a bit higher than they need to be.
Upon arrival, after you've purchased your tickets to enter, you'll get your ticket ripped and handed back to you then stamped. You want to bring the ticket half with you even through you are stamped if you'd like to step out and perhaps go to your car if you must just to ensure you get back in. The nice part about this speedway is that you are allowed to bring small cooler bags, foods, drinks and whatever else you'd like to bring with you with an exception of chairs (no folding chairs nor any other type chair that is not medically necessary!)once inside there are food options however the portions are no where close what you paid for. The food is good though, actually, rather good to be honest it's just not worth it.
Overall, Holland Speedway (also know as Hillside Race Track) is a wonderful, family friendly, safe and enjoyable place to go and watch some of the best races and events in the Western New York area! There are many perks that come along with a visit there such as having family fun, enjoying a family meal with brilliant entertainment and my personal favorite, coming to see the absolutely unbelievablly fun and exciting events that the speedway puts in for the crowd! It never ceases to amaze me there each and every time I go. Believe it or not, ever since I've been attending the races there 20+ years ago, (I started to go with my parents when I was around 3 years old) there hasn't been a time I didn't enjoy or leave with a big smile on my face thrilled to have went! I highly recommend that everyone goes to check it out at least...
Read moreTrack is very old. Bleachers are made of wood and in my opinion the wood is extremely old, disintegrating and should be replaced. Crash-O-Rama was fun but not well organized for a 5 hour show. It could have been a 2 hour show if organized and timely. The speaker system is probably original from when the track was opened 50 or more years ago and nothing broadcasted was understandable. The snack and water lines were an hour long wait with no signage to tell which window had what products available. Beware, the current signage is wrong. Don't go to the window expecting something advertised above the window. Scope things out before standing in an hour long line. Kudos to the people working concession, they worked their butts off for rude customers. The glory of this place are the men and women who win measly amounts of money or none, yet are spending their own money to come put on a show. They are the stars. $25 to attend again? Probably not...
Read moreWe went for the monster truck event. Our grandson is totally into them. We purchased pit passes, so we were able to get up close and personal with the trucks and drivers. There were two trucks with bench seats giving rides for $10 which I felt a bit pricey considering we paid extra for the pit passes, but they enjoyed the ride. Food and drink were decently priced. Good thing too, you're not allowed to bring in coolers, drinks or food. Although some people were tailgating in the parking lot before the gates opened. All in all an entertaining night and a thrill for...
