Really cool historic fire tower where the last guy to serve stopped in 1986 after a 75 year tradition of having someone serve in the tower to be a fire lookout. You can’t get into the tower access is barred by a padlock. It’s so cold and windy up there it’s kind of terrifying. If you don’t like heights don’t climb up there.

If you take the horse road, this hike is not that bad. It definitely is colder at the top. I was there when it was very cloudy so I didn’t exactly get to see views, but it’s still beautiful. You cannot go all the way to the top and it definitely sounds like someone’s in there rattling. ...

Multiple ways to get there - hike 2 miles from the ski lift, or hike longer from spruceton or 214- I’ve done them all and they’re all great . Always...
