Gold Star Beach Park — Attraction in Town of Huntington

Love this place my parents brought me here every summer back in the 1960s'. Many fond memories swimming and playing and exploring the area. The pier was part of the THM launch service that brought people out to their moored boats in the harbor. Three Harbor Marine. I used to help tie up their lauches wwhen they would come into dock. I made freinds with them and I was allowed to go out in the harbors on their launch boats. Great memories and back then dogs were not allowed on the beach areas...as I recall..Glad to see the place...

This beach is so pretty! There is plenty of space and it is free even through most of the summer. The restrooms could use a paint job. But there are trailson the neighboring property which is also a dog park that goes right to the water! Great place to go kite flying, collect rosequartz, to picnic (tables and grass).
