I was excited to camp just by the Hudson River. But, long story short we stayed just two days out of the four we booked and this is what I can suggest: -expect to find random people sleeping at the campsite, without being registered. They apparently have they “regulars” that come at evening, sleep in their car and leave in the morning.(I totally respect whoever doesn’t have a place to stay and comes just seeking a quiet place where nobody is going to bother them. But we had a horrible first night because of this: the person seemed quite drunk and “creepy”, standing just behind our tent when the campground was half empty, it was a Thursday so there was nobody to report this to because at 6pm the park associates aren’t there anymore)

-if you love camping because you love the quiet and peace nature environment, don’t go here in the weekend. It was a nightmare. Loud music on from 11pm till sunrise at about 5/5.30. (Called the police, they never showed up) People were the most inconsiderate and loud I’ve ever seen. Flying drones, the loudest music you can possibly imagine.

-if you’re escaping from New York City because you need space, maybe from busy neighborhoods...again, don’t come here in the weekends because it’s PACKED and you’ll find the same environment.

-BATHROOMS. What can I say, I just saw the women one but...3 showers, 4 toilets, for a campground that probably fits around 300-350 people during weekends, it’s simply insane. Dirty beyond imagination.

-this is not anybody’s fault but as the website states most of the sites are just partially in shade, please take this into consideration when you book and check the temperatures

The campground associates are very sweet but very young too and I feel they had no power over certain people’s rudeness.

It’s a beautiful area but most people that were there, were there just to party not to unwind and be...

I would have to say this is the worst campsite I've been. We are a group of four and all of us felt the same way about this campsite.

The bathroom facility was the worst we have seen. Floor was constantly wet. They had one of those industrial blower on the floor trying to dry the floor but it blows up all the germs and dirt in the bathroom instead. Couple of the showers stalks had no shower curtains. You literally shower in front of everybody in the bathroom. You'll have to get dressed and undressed in the open with everybody else.

Camp site is so closed to a rail track that you hear the train horned all day all night long non-stop! ..........And they were very loud at night time.

Camp sites were a bit clamped than other camp areas we have been. You hear people talking in the next campsite if they talk just a little bit louder.

Our camp site was right next to the trail so people were constantly walking into our campsite to get to the trail.

Nothing much to see in the area. We even tried to go to the town to walk around but still nothing much to see or do there.

I would definitely avoid this campsite if I have another choice next time. Strictly my...

Loved our camping experience here. The pros although the sites are small they give the illusion of privacy with tree and bush placement. The playground was fantastic and everything bathroom/shower is within walking distance. The playground even had 2 very clean family restrooms. The walking paths were just ok...not the best for small children for sure and a little hard to find and navigate but still very pretty. The staff was top notch the ranger was super kind and so was the young man the checked us in. Loved that they offered a few conveniences in case. Overall I would camp here again with my family of 6 for a short trip...if it were longer than a few days I would recommend a campground more geared towards families with more trail options and more things to do. We went with a group of friends so our kids were entertained by them. Cons: bathroom/shower there are just 3 shower stalls and the water is funny in that back away if someone flushes the toilet lol It was pretty clean and better than nothing. They do allow dogs but no area just for them that I saw. The trail is not little...
