I had the incredible opportunity to experience whitewater rafting with Adirondac Rafting Co., and it was nothing short of epic. Nestled in the heart of the Adirondacks, between Lake Placid and Lake George, this adventure became the highlight of our friend's wedding weekend. As a unique way to bond and kick off the celebrations, their wedding party decided to take on the wild and scenic Upper Hudson River Gorge together. Covering 15 miles of exhilarating whitewater fun through pristine wilderness, it was an experience we'll never forget.
From the moment we arrived, the team at Adirondac Rafting Co. made us feel right at home. Their guides (and my friends also guides) are not just skilled; they're the cream of the crop in the industry, having a reputation for winning the Adirondack Guide Olympics. The rafts and equipment were top-notch, ensuring our safety and comfort throughout the adventure. Plus, the variety of raft sizes meant our group was perfectly accommodated, regardless of the river level that day.
The journey itself was a thrilling blend of adrenaline-pumping rapids and serene moments where we could soak in the beauty of the Adirondacks. Halfway through, we stopped for a delicious riverside lunch, which was a much-needed break to relax and just enjoy the surroundings. The guide kept us entertained with stories and ensured that everyone, from first-timers to thrill-seekers, had a memorable time.
Booking the trip was a breeze, with no hidden fees and straightforward communication from the company. Their location at 6440 Rt 30, Indian Lake, NY, was convenient for us and added a scenic drive to our adventure. For anyone looking to add a dash of adventure to their Adirondack visit, whether it's a family trip, a gathering of friends, or even a wedding party like ours, I can't recommend Adirondac Rafting Co. enough. The combination of skilled guides, quality equipment, and breathtaking scenery made for an epic adventure that was the perfect start to our...
Read moreWhat more can I say about this place. This was one of the events for a bachelor party I attended and was definitely a highlight of the weekend. It was a fantastic experience from start to finish. Staff is professional, organized, friendly and knowledgeable. For most of us, it was our first time whitewater rafting. The staff made us feel prepared and ready to take on the river before even stepping foot on the bus, explaining the do's and dont's of rafting. After a brief ride, we arrived at our entry point, and despite numerous other rafting companies entering at the same point, ARC was extremely efficient getting us in the water. MO was our river guide. She was experienced, energetic, bubbly and passionate about her trade and also the area, which made all of us feel very comfortable. She provided a comprehensive crash course on rafting basics while we were waiting to enter the river along with some hands-on ones once we got in. With MO we got much more than a great rafting experience. In between more rigorous parts of the river we got a full history and geographical lesson on the river and surrounding area which really helped give a greater general appreciation and understanding. Half way through we stopped off and ate a sufficient lunch provided by ARC. Then we hit some more rapids and ended our journey just floating down the river, relaxing, talking and just hanging out, before arriving at out exit point. Overall a great balance of adventure and education. This was an A+ experience at a great value,...
Read moreAdirondack Rafting Co is the best in the business at what they do. My family and I had an overwhelmingly positive experience on our river adventure despite bumping into a couple of rocks along the way. All of the guides were absolutely excellent. Jack, our guide had “life of the party” energy. If anyone wants to have a bachelorette party going down the Hudson River, he’s the guide for you. Jackson, who guided the raft behind us ended up helping my mom who fell out of the raft at one point, so I am grateful for his responsiveness in helping her out of the water and for noticing that she needed assistance! Dan, who was guiding the raft in front of us, really seemed to be the ultimate pro at what he does. I didn’t see him bump into a single rock AND I really enjoyed eavesdropping on the history lessons that he was giving to his group whenever we got within earshot. I love local history, so that was a treat to listen to even if it was for brief moments. Overall, I highly recommend this company. It is a well organized operation and well worth...
