Went out of my way today on a cross country trip to see this Center. I read good things about it. First sign I saw when I got there said 'no pets on the trails'. OK, I understand and I would not take my dog with me on a trail anyway because he would disturb the wildlife. The next sign I saw was 'No pets allowed on property'. My dog was confined in my van and would have been fine for the time I might have been gone, considering the weather was very cool today! I understand not taking a pet out on the trails, and I also understand not taking them into the buildings or enclosures, but I do think it is a little over the top to not even allow them on the property, like into the parking lot, while they are confined! So, I missed out on what I figured might be a great opportunity of seeing some local wildlife, and whatever else experiences there might have been offered. I guess this center is mostly for locals, and that is OK, but travelers would probably stop in more, if some allowances would be made. At least let us get into the parking lot! Maybe add a few kennels to be used for a fee, because your area is so rural that it is hard to find a dog sitter on the spur...
Read moreIt was my Father's birthday! I had never been there before. I paid $5.00 for family donation. We started to look around. One of the Staff stated, "We couldn't stay because they had a class coming in the room." So we rushed throw to view the dead animal exhibit! My Mother is on oxygen. My father and I now had to rush my mother around causing her to breath harder. This made me very upset. The next room we tried to view had another group of kids in a class. We quickly looked threw this exhibit. I asked my parents if we could go to the gift shop. I wanted to purchase 2 owls for my ill Mother. No one was in the gift shop. I then went to the information desk to ask for a person to check the merchandise out. The female who came to ring out my purchase was about as friendly as the dead stuffed animals in the place! It was raining outside so this trip was a big disappointment. This was the worst place I had...
