Pros: easy access, short wait times for lifts, fair pricing for lift ticket. Cons: limited staff, somewhat outdated equipment on the hill. Overall my experience was a solid C+ I came on Saturday 11th December 2021 on a mostly clear sky 30 ish degree day, there had been about 1 inch snowfall during the morning hour but the hill clearly hadn't been groomed during the night before. Big ice patches with small powdery pockets in between. The hill takes around 90 seconds to ride down, only one lift was open, and several of the cut-between runs were not groomed or open. To sum it up, sunburst would have to be the Dennys of ski resorts in Wisconsin. You're not seeking it out specifically, but you've got the itch to ride, you can get a session in, and it won't kill you on price.

UPDATE came here to ride the terrain park, because the website advertisers a beginner and advanced level terrain Park, however the beginner area is not really a beginner area, it's on the side of a wickedly sloped Hill which is super sketchy, obstacles I think our place in a way which makes them very difficult to ride, I'm not sure who built this park, but whoever did should really reconsider where they're putting these obstacles, there are at least three better locations that are flatter, easier to ride, and more convenient four Riders than the area that they're at, I get that they're trying to keep all the terrain together and you using the Rope tow for the terrain Park just make sense, but I'm sure there's some way it could be arranged differently where it's not like a hazard. Lose a star for falsely claiming a beginner...

I'll mention the negative first because I think it's important: I couldn't really believe how unprofessional some of the staff were, especially the chairlift / tow rope / mowing walkway attendants in the booths, who were largely on their phones instead of paying attention. For just one example, I watched a little girl with a snowboard faceplant immediately while getting off a chairlift, and the attendant simply never noticed to stop the lift or make sure she was okay. Safety didn't exactly feel like a real priority.

The food is also pretty ridiculously priced. It's concession food: super basic burger, hot dog, etc. The burger was about $7 and a hot dog $5, for example. Cans of pop/soda were $3. I spent over $20 on lunch just for myself.

Besides that, though, I had a nice time here with some friends, and I liked the place overall. It's small, of course, but they had pretty much the whole place open despite most of the real snow being gone and it being in the mid to high 30s that day.

The faster tow rope is a blast. I've been skiing for nearly my whole life, but I spent the most time on that hill even though it was pretty short and easy just because it was so much fun to take the tow rope back up. When it wasn't too crowded, we had fun zipping down the hill and then swooping back around right up to the tow rope and grabbing on without...

First time at Sunburst ski hill, may have been the last. My girlfriend and I, both first time skiers, and new to the process of renting skiss and accessories, were both disturbed by the workers attitude in the ski shop. Very short with customers and not willing to help when they clearly knew we and other customers had questions. Several other couples (also new to skiing) in the process of getting equipment also commented to us on the poor service and cocky attitudes of the workers. Since we were new to skiing, we decided to take beginner lesson. The session was to start at 6pm, we were 10 min early to the meeting spot and at 6pm it didn't start, we were told we had to wait for other who signed up. I started getting really annoyed after waiting a half hour and we still had not started, but during that time we did get to witness Sunburst ski instructors screwing around, flinging snow at each other and talking stupid, acting very, very unprofessional. The lesson started at 6:45, after waiting 45 min and no one else came. Our instructor was the only bright spot, she was very helpfull, patient and professional. If I we would of gotten one of the other ski instructors that were screwing around, I would of left and demanded...

The tubing hills weren’t as epic in person as they were online when I was looking to come here. There were only a few ski slopes, and they went from very tiny bunny slopes to insanely steep slopes with no in between. Their food was yummy and slightly overpriced, and they do sell some gear but they do not sell or rent bibs. The cost for rentals were quite reasonable, but if you were going with family who does not want to ski, they either have to sit outside in the cold at picnic benches where they cannot see you, or they will sit up in the lounge where there is “social distancing,” but almost no one is wearing a mask because they’re drinking.
