The trails are well-managed with year-round availability. A photo shows a day work crew went via Bluebird Field to tend to a fallen, balancing tree over a pathway! Safety first! The wildlife is abundant. The landscape is breathtaking in every season. During snowy/icy winter walks, using walking sticks is advised if not sure footed. Having such beautiful, safe walking trails available is a gift and appreciated by many who are respectful of the natural environment. Parking is abundant. Special events are well organized and enjoyable. One pic is of an osprey I've seen on walks lately, perched in the same tree. Another is of a small beaver den in the water. A snapping turtle was sunning itself by a small pond and was at least 30#! Skunk cabbage is abundant, but do not disturb, or you will stink! Deer are everywhere, and this one was in front of me as though leading me through the spring path. It even walked on the bridge before jumping into the side marsh for lunch. It is a magical area to indulge the senses with nature.

One of my favorite local places. Building has a lot of educational resources for younger visitors, but I primarily visit for the trails. Several different trails to choose from ranging from half a mile to about three miles, longer if you combine them and walk them all. Trails are well maintained and suitable for beginner hikers as they are mostly flat. The purple trail is a bit more rugged, but nothing extreme. Often plenty of wildlife to enjoy observing. I've seen deer, mink, raccoon, and lots of turtles. I walk here several times a week.

Great place for a nature walk with over 2 miles of trails over Marsh, through woods full of Hemlocks, Oaks and various other tree species, and around two beautiful Ponds, with several areas to sit and relax along the way. The Administration building has a souvenir shop and many educational areas concerning native species and how to preserve our environment. There is also a bald eagle exhibit behind the administration building, I'll include more pics on my next trip.

We took advantage of one of the hands-on education programs that they offer at the Audubon Center. This gave us a chance to learn about some of our local wildlife and birds, and then we built some nest boxes to take home and put up ourselves. After our enjoyable class, we went out to walk some of the well-marked trails that are free of charge and offer an enjoyable walk over bridges, through the woods, and give you all different views of nature. You have the opportunity to see all kinds of wildlife there, and the trails range from a short relaxing half mile to a longer two mile hike, if you have the time. There are different places along the way so you can stop and enjoy a picnic lunch or just take a peaceful break, and there's plenty, plenty of opportunities for some beautiful photography along the way. The trails are totally free of charge and the programs cost less than going to see a movie. I totally recommend checking out our local Audubon Center for individuals or families with children. Perfect way to spend a few hours, and better yet, it puts you in touch with nature not necessarily other people. So during this Pandemic it's an even smarter way to...

Trails open from dusk to dawn and all 6+ miles of trails are very well maintained and exceptionally marked - the colorful map is a plus just for orientation purposes. Joanne Miller (reception and gift shop manager) was extremely knowledgeable and very pleasant when telling us all about the trails and the nature center itself. Had a few recommendations on exhibits in and outside the building which we might have missed had we not spoken to her. They had a small rescue center on property and you could tell the 2 red tailed hawks and kestrel were very well taken care of - nice, clean enclosures. The entire staff was so friendly and welcoming. Terris Monroe came up to me and just introduced himself and we talked for over 15 minutes about the trails and different animals and nature itself. You could tell it was his dream job and he loved the environment - it was refreshing! Thanks to all who made this a very...
