VERY well-kept park filled with cheap family fun! There was not a single building that looked like it needed a paint job and the bathrooms were very clean. Even the gardens around the mini golf course were beautifully cared for! You can’t beat mini golf for a dollar/person and frisbee golf by donation. There is also a very large playground and a Gaga ball pit. We unfortunately forgot our frisbee golf discs but luckily Anne in the office said the park had some we could borrow which we really appreciated.
Anne was helpful in more ways than just that. As we were checking in for camping, she said we could move spots to be further away from other campers if we wished. How thoughtful of her!
We had such a great time camping at this park and hope that next time we visit the water will be higher for canoeing/kyaking!
We also recommend bringing bug spray. We visited on a chillier weekend (high around 63°) and the mosquitos were still out and about so bad that we didn’t feel comfortable going in the woods to see the trail/do some of the...
Read moreLove the River and the park looks nice but my recent visit was pretty disappointing. I was told previously by the park office gentleman that I could come any day after 10 to rent kayaks. I came with 6 friends and my mother came to kayak to celebrate my deceased brothers birthday. No one was at the office ( although the sign said it was supposed to open at 9 am) I waited until 11 am. Some nice people xamping told me I should be able to go to the camp host trailer and they could help. I knocked on that door twice and no one answered but there were dogs barking. I left eventually to go see if I could find some kayaks so my day wasn't completely ruined. When I came back the nice people across from the camp host told me that the camp host was there the entire time and as soon as I left they came out and walked their dog. Needless to say, relying on someone to be there when i want to rent kayaks is no...
Read moreLots of great amenities like a disc golf course, although I couldn't figure out the layout or where the first hole was. There is also a mini golf course, it wasn't open (5 or 6pm on a weekday in may). There are campsites and spots for rv's and campers and kayak rentals. Play areas for kids hiking trails and picnic areas. It looked like a great place for a family reunion or group gatherings. Not sure if it just wasn't in season yet or what, but it looked to be in a bit of disrepair or need of maintenance. One of the trails had wooden bridges that went through a marsh near a river but it was closed. I will try back again now that we are officially into summer and...
