Date of Visit: Fri July 7 Small, unique, and niche museums are our thing. We love checking out things like that, and if there is one dedicated to a beloved brand like Jell-O – of course we had to visit. In the Small town of LeRoy NY (just outside of Rochester) is the birthplace of the iconic Dessert – Jell-o. We have been here before several years ago – but it was long enough ago that we had to come back. Since our last visit – they have renovated and made some changes – so it is a good thing we came back. This museum has displays on everything related to Jell-o. From the early days of its discovery, to early marketing, its place in pop culture, and celebrity endorsements. There is one major celebrity Spokesperson who while still included in the museum, has had their presence drastically reduced since we were last there. (rightfully, so) The gift shop has a nice collection of merch from t-shirts, trinkets, jello-molds, and other fun items. The museum is small, so it doesn’t take a long time to go through it, but if you do all of the quizzes, scavenger hunts, and trivia – it takes longer – but it is very informative. This is a fun stop that wont take up a lot of your time, or impede your progress on your road trip. see @rogue_trippers on instagram for more photos The staff are all very friendly, and knowledgable of their product & museum.

One of the more fascinating places I've been to. Leroy New York is the birthplace of Jello. They offer a guided tour. It's a really good learning experience. They offer a AAA discount this is operated by the historical society. The basement has an antique Cadillac and some horse and buggies and sleighs. Which was really cool because I never saw one close up. I wish they would get some of those restored to working condition. Hidden to Kraft foods this would be a good idea to have the Jello vehicle for parade use. The souvenir shop was awesome. It has souvenir t-shirts with vintage jello products on them in all the jello colors. I would have to say this is one of the great undiscovered museums in America. and I had a blast and learned a lot. Fantastic staff giving the tour and gave me beneficial tips of where I would find food in Leroy based in my taste and budget and they were right

Visited this past weekend with my wife and two daughters. We enjoyed our entire visit. First we were given some history about Jello and its origins. Then my daughters were given a scavenger hunt that we worked on together. We found all the displays to be incredible. It’s not the biggest museum in the world , but it was definitely worth our ride from a few countries over to see. Great museum with wonderful individuals who work there. Five STARS for them. THANK YOU!!!! P.S. Included a picture of the historical house that the museum shares a driveway with. Plenty of parking out front and back there on a Sunday!!! 😊😊😊

Who would've known that Jell-O originated in upstate NY? This museum is worth visiting if only to say that you've been to a museum about Jell-O. :) Admission is only about $5 (and they offer a AAA discount as well). There's a small carriage museum in the basement. A guide will sit you down when you arrive and briefly explain the (short) history of Jell-O, and then you're free to browse the gallery.

Highlights include the ceiling of spoons, voting for your favorite jello flavor, the Jell-O brick road, and my personal favorite, all the crazy advertisements the Jell-O company has come out with over the years. I mean seriously. You definitely need some serious advertising if you want people to eat Jello with their salads. The museum itself is pretty small, but it has it's own little gift shop where you can buy Jell-O and novelty Jell-O boxers that say "Watch it jiggle! Watch it wiggle!" on them.

There isn't much to do in Le Roy proper besides this see this museum, the historical society next door, and visit the Depot restaurant. Half a day is more than enough time to see the main bits of Le Roy, with about 45 minutes of that dedicated to the Jell-O Gallery. I wouldn't go out of my way to visit this museum since it is really small, but if you're a real fan or if you're in the area, definitely...

I had a great experience! There staff was amazing and my guide made to story of Jell-O come to life. The lady who tells the story, her name was Ruth Harvie, was AMAZING! She knew everything about Jell-O and was so eager to share! Ruth is one of a kind, as is the museum. Obviously the people who work there are passionate about the history in Le Roy and Jell-O and help you learn more. They are also kind while sharing their knowledge. The building is very clean and neat, but packed with cool items. There were a lot of Jell-O facts and cool memorabilia. For kids, there was a little section that featured play food and a snack stand like play table. In the basement of the museum, there are many old style cars, buggies, and sleighs. There is so much to know about Jell-O and the museum was so family and budget friendly and fun. I want to go again and again! I definitely recommend going to the...
