This was an incredible piece of history to visit and the photographs don't do justice. You have to see this in person as you will be amazed by the shier size of the machine once you get out of your car. Unless you utilize the boulders in the small parking lot, it is a little difficult to get a good photograph of it without the fence getting in the way. Otherwise, this is a good stopping point for a break on a long drive and witness some cool history.

Pretty cool that they brought it closer to the road and have history posted about it. Impressive to see, would have been more to see actually working. Nice little parking spot to view it. Right across from an active quarry (watch out for truck traffic).

What you don’t see on a map, can be just as exciting as one that is. If there’s one thing I’ve learned from my travels, it’s the hidden treasures that matter.

A wonderfully awesome piece of history. Originally built in Marion, Ohio, other than the Big Bucket outside of the former factory, this is the last remaining steam shovel...
