Dwyer Ice Arena — Attraction in Town of Lewiston

I'm a big fan of College Hockey and Dwyer Arena is just disappointing. Built around the Turn of the Century they made a lot of bad decisions to be cheap. They need to put in some money to replace the bad aluminum bleachers. They have great standing room only areas, well they would but the strange management will not allow anyone to stand on the big concourse at the top. What reason they have for this is anyone's guess. They need to worry less about that and more about improving the presentation of the game which is high school-ish at best.

The main rink is great for youth hockey. Played here several times, and the ice is great and the viewing area is very comfortable. The secondary rink.. not so much. Fan seating is all behind one net, and the ice is not as good (according to my kid). Concession staff is friendly, and the food is pretty good. Went for my son's hockey game in the main rink. Rink is great. Lots of seating options. Regular bleachers, bleachers with seats, folding seats with a warm room behind them and a accessible viewing area at one end of the rink. Good temperature, not too cold. Close handicapped parking, elevator, a bathroom downstairs, plus a large bathroom upstairs near the elevator. Good rink for those with mobility issues. Their food stand serves...
