Lovely walk in the park to the falls! It was wet in May so do wear waterproof boots with traction. The hike is very easy, not strenuous but lots of rocks so pick up your feet and walk with care.

🚗 TIPS FOR GETTING THERE 🏔️ (Sharing because most people seemed to get it but a few different sets of us made the same mistakes so sharing if they help) if you use Google Maps, it’ll basically route to the falls themselves aka take you a dead end. Don’t do that. Park in the lot on your right about a mile from the end of the navigation. from that lot, don’t go down the unmarked but well trodden footpath by the signage. Looks like a trailhead but it is not! We did this as did a few others. It is a nice walk though. walk the road the way you were driving and come to the dead end. From here go down the gated road to the right of the only house. Looks like private road with that “posted” signage, but it’s not. That’s the trailhead. from there on out it’s a really easy nice walk but lots of rocks as you find in Catskills hikes. follow the blue blazes until you reach the falls. Then you can keep going or switch to the red...

Ok I started at a different point then most people because I thought this trail was moderate to hard. To park you either park at a bridge & walk 1 mile to trailhead or drive over a mile of rocky ground - doable in the right car. Only space for a few cars (maybe 5-6?), but only 1 car when I got there Friday 10am. (I followed the directions on the AllTrails app and thats where it led med)

It was a lot of uphill going to the falls and a lot of loose rocks. Took about 2 hours getting to the falls (1 hour hiking back downhill).

Very shady which was nice. 10am on a Friday had very little people (saw a few more at the falls but still very empty - at noon it was nice!)

Wear long pants and bug spray and you’ll be fine. Waterfall was...

Accessed the Diamond Notch trailhead via Phoenicia in October. It was a beautiful, peaceful hike along a running brook / stream of water. Fall colors were spectacular! There is a very small 6-7 car parking lot at the trailhead so some cars had to find parking on the way in. No restrooms at the trailhead or anywhere on the trail. Was not a fan of the loose rocks on the trail! Falls were spectacular and water was super cold!! Great trail in...
