This was such a fun experience! If you’re an animal lover and crave time with barnyard buddies with no restraints, provided you’re not looking for a luxury stay, this is for you. You’ll be camping with a number of other campers in what’s essentially a large backyard, but there’s plenty of tables, stone fire-pits, and spots to set up in. We were fortunate that while there was a good number of fellow campers we all managed to be pretty spread out. There was a large group on what is called the plateau and we were for-warned they might be loud and to please reach out with any noise complaints immediately however the group was super respectful and abided by the 10pm quiet time. One other large group on the young side nearer to us stayed up pretty late and was a bit louder but it was all such good natured fun and everyone was so nice it was literally nothing to complain about. Not even close to anything out of hand, but nice to know the hosts would be willing to shut it right down if it was. The animals are all super friendly and well cared for and it’s just an overall unique thing to do. Some hiking on Walnut Mountain nearby and a nearby gorge they tell you about that is 100% worth the trek to get to it. Swim in it- it’s delightful. I know leeches can be in freshwater but I didn’t see any. Keep expectations realistic and enjoy it for the wonderful experience it is- and ps expect to have uninvited guests aggressively join you for dinner.

Honestly the best camping experience I’ve had in a while. It’s like Jurassic park with farm animals. Each morning buy wake up to baby goats and lambs bleating. We had a visit from a shy little pot bellied pig each morning. The cows are like big dogs that love apples. Watch out for the goats, they are incredibly gentle and friendly but nothing stop them from nibbling at any food left out. Paul and Marylin are great hosts and the effort and care they burning is evident through the beautiful campsite. Showers. Toilets, out lets lighting and firewood are all great and easily accessible. Will be back!!!
