I visit this park everyday atleast once a day. It is my favorite place to go, after work, to wind down and on my days off to play with my dogs. It's kept as clean as possible given people's carelessness. The park employees are constantly trying to stay ahead of the garbage and anything left behind. The bathrooms are always clean. I mean it's pretty impressive. I try to do my part as well. They have done an amazing job with the trail that circles around the lake. It's dog friendly, plenty of garbage cans and seating. There's a fitness trail as well with informative postings. It's for the most part peaceful; Until summer, when the gates get locked and money takes priority over public access.
I realize kids have to have camp somewhere but a public park should always be accessible to the public during normal business hours. You can still walk in on foot but there's slim to no parking and it feels very awkward with people staring and watching you like you don't belong.
A couple of years ago, my son was told he couldn't play on the basketball court because the kids were coming over and they don't want them "interacting with adults".... My son was 17 at the time and was devastated. I should add that my son has been in special needs schools since kindergarten! I did get a picture of the lady who kicked him off the court but decided not to call the school or press the issue. He didn't want to either because of his kind heart.
Also, the noise kills the chance of soaking in peaceful sounds of nature. The park is in sections so there is a jungle gym, basketball court, volley ball net, tennis court, baseball field and another massive feild by the entrance, where you'd expect noise at a public park. There are also multiple mini grill stations scattered throughout the park. The lake dock and trails are in the back. I do wish there was a way to access the lake and trails without going through complete mayhem when you pull in.
Once camp is over, the gates open when schools are going back in session but then lock again in Oct/Fall. I'd recommend going the first or last 2 weeks of summer. Or it's perfect for the entire...

The park has bathrooms, which is nice, and also some pavilions. It's a great...
