There is a fun and not too challenging 9 hole disc golf course at this park. Two gravel tee boxes for every hole (blue and yellow) except on number 7 (we could only find blue) and hole 6 has the tee colors reversed. Pretty heavy chains in the baskets so throw hard. You'll see hole 5 first, you can start and end there, otherwise walk all the way down past the soccer field to find 1.

Really almost surprisingly nice park, plenty of trails at different difficulty levels, lots to explore and discover, such as the foundation ruins at the top of the mountain. If I had a mountain bike I'd come here even more for all the trails. Frisbee golf too! Definitely a gem of Liberty. Only thing missing is somewhere to fish

This park has so many cute trails and places to walk around: it's simple, but perfect. It has a cute little playground for the kids, large pine trees with that perfect bed of pine needles underneath for hanging out or photo sessions. It also has nice picnic tables, a little baseball field, a soccer field, and working bathrooms.

It was a very nice trail with options suitable for all ages. It had a nice bathroom and large picnic table area. I would have liked a better playground because I went with children who needed some variety after a tame nature hike. The playground was OK but only OK.

Biggest gripe that made me take off another star is that the maps and trails were hard to decipher. I could have sworn I was following correctly and yet the trail markers didn't seem to match up with the map. We ended up getting exhausted because an apparent wrong turn made it take way longer than it should have to get out. I was even using my phone as a compass, looking for trail markers constantly, and checking and rechecking the map and yet something did not add up. Fortunately the terrain is forgiving enough that at some points we were able to just make our own way between random trees to other trails that were within sight.

Also, there was disappointingly little wildlife. The most interesting life we saw were bugs.

Despite knocking off two stars for the difficult map, lack of wildlife, and meager playground, I would still highly recommend this as a hiking trip for families with young kids and beginners. Not too impressive for seasoned hikers but it was...

Walnut Mountain is a nice little park with very good mountain bike trails. It can be crowded and full of trash from the summer visitors in July and August despite the efforts of the Liberty parks department and numerous trash cans. I'd recommend using the West Lake Street entrance during that time of year instead of the one on Walnut Mountain Road to avoid them for the most part. It's also very nice for snowshoeing and cross-country skiing in the winter and there's a disc...

This is an excellent town park, distinguished from other such places by its tall hill and many well-maintained carriage trails left over from its history as a hotel. The park has ball fields, a playground and picnic spots, but also a disc golf course. It's popular with mountain bikers and I come here for XC skiing. The park is quite large, so be sure to find an online map or take a picture of the map board at the east...
