Great experience. We went today (July 19th). They apparently opened for the blueberry picking season a week before. We called beforehand to make sure they were open. The owner answered the phone and said we could come by whenever. Everything is self service. The owner was there when we went. He said in past seasons they've had other fruits like raspberries but this season they only had blueberries. They had two blueberry fields, one which is more organized with smaller bushes suitable for children and the other one is more untamed but we had no problem picking in the "untamed" blueberry patch. He has buckets you can hang around your neck so that it is easier to pick with both hands (He sanitizes the buckets after every use). At the self service station, you will also find 1 quart containers for taking your blueberries home in. Each quart is $4 paid on the honor system at the self service station. The picking was really fun and the area is gorgeous. Between three people, we spent about 20-30 minutes and picked about 4 quarts. We were encouraged to taste the blueberries as we went along. The nice part is that the blueberries were in various stages of ripeness so if you prefer tart or sweet blueberries you'll find some to suit your taste buds. I honestly was surprised how many blueberries there were. The farm is located up a windy, unpaved road but our little sedan had no issue getting up though we were afraid we weren't going the right way at one point. There is a sign for the farm right off of the road which is where you need to turn. Highly recommend checking out this little you-pick farm especially if you have a taste for...
Read moreMy husband and I LOVED picking here, it was really fun. But, some tips are needed to be able to really have a good time. First, the drive to the berry patch is crazy, I was so glad we have a Subaru. It's a steep gravel driveway with big rocks. I wouldn't have even tried the drive if we were in my old Carolla. Second, they have a help yourself station, which is quite cool! But they only accept cash. When I went it was $4/quart and they provided the quart baskets for you! Third, the rows are fairly over run. I wore sandals and regretted it. There were some thorns and stuff that would have been easier to walk around with boots or at least sneakers on.
However, you feel like you are out in the woods picking berries! It's fun, and I loved listening to the birds and finding the occasional bear scat! :-) I will definitely come again and suggest my friends and family...
Read moreGreat first experience picking blueberries! Wasn’t exactly expecting the unpaved road up from the sign for the farm. If we weren’t using a gps, likely would have missed it but it was good once we knew we were in the right place. The owner was kind enough to show us exactly what type/color of blueberries are ready to be picked. Appreciate that the containers used to pick the blueberries are sanitized after each person uses them. We walked away with 2 quarts of blueberries...
