Berean Park — Attraction in Town of Lloyd

The beach is small and popular for families, so every time I've been there it has been busy with kids splashing and shrieking, parents yelling to the kids, barbequing, and playing music... typical family fun. As a single adult, I'd love to go swimming in the morning when it is peaceful, before it gets super hot and before noisy families show up, but apparently I cannot because the park doesn't even open until noon! Also known as Illinois Mountain Park this little county park in Highland, NY packs a lot of activities into a small space. The park has a pond with life guarded swimming in summer, a grassy hill with scattered trees for lounging and sun bathing, bathrooms and a small concession stand. Berean is a favorite for sure! It has a nice covered picnic area for big groups, a 🏀 basketball court, a tennis court 🎾, nearby hiking trails in the Illinios Mountain area, a playground, a Snack Shack and a port-a-potty. The Reservoir looks like a small lake and you can swim in it during the summer when lifeguards are present. There are also a few picnic bench areas w charcoal grills.
