I really like this park but the dog owners with "friendly" dogs are out of control. JUST BECAUSE YOUR DOG IS "FRIENDLY" DOES NOT MEAN HE CAN RUN UP TO ME WITHOUT MY PRIOR CONSENT. IT MAKES ME VERY ANGRY WHEN PEOPLE ARE SO WRAPPED UP IN THEIR OWN WORLD THAT THEY ARE SO SELF RIGHTEOUS ABOUT THEIR BEHAVIOR. Guess what? Your friendly dog needs to be put on a leash when you see another person approach. Since these "friendly" dogs never respond to their human calling them back. If your dog comes up to my pet I will defend my animal who is on a leash. Dog behavior wise it is not smart to allow your dog to come up to another dog who is on a leash. This isn't rocket science!! I also should be able to go to this park with an individual with a disability such as Autism without fear that a random dog will just run up to us!! Again stop being so egocentric with how you engage with the world in public spaces. I will now be carrying bear spray and reporting all violators with a camera as evidence to the town. Yesterday a dog with his owners ran up to me with my dog on a leash. These ladies did not even try to restrain the dog and as he approached I stated "your dog better not come near us"- I had a 3 month puppy with me. I don't want to kick your dog. Really. BUT I WILL DEFEND MINE. The ladies were indignant and called my dog "aggressive." Sorry not going to work, gaslighting on me does not impact me to act out in anger. I just think you are stupid for thinking its safe for your dog to run up to a LEASHED AND RESTRAINED animal. DErrrrr. This is AFTER the same dog ran up to another lady and her very small doxen. So they are just traipsing all over the park like they own the place with no regard for others. Then if you tell them they need to leash the animal they get angry and accuse your leashed animal of being aggressive. Talk about lack of self awareness. Until you get to therapy at least LEASH YOUR ANIMAL WHEN YOU SEE PEOPLE APPROACHING. DUH. She didn't even have a leash for the dog as you can see in the photos her only option was to carry him. Plain dumb!!! If you see this group please report them for off...

Only the beginning trail is very flat and easy to walk. The rest of the loops have rocks and roots with changes in elevation. A trail map is at the end of the initial flat section Quiet and not heavily used. There is a pretty, but small stream with a small waterfall. It is dry when there is a long dry spell with no rain. If you are someone with difficulty walking, the only place to go is the initial short flat part, which is nice and ends at a grassy meadow that is nice for a picnic. It would be an out and back walk to that first meadow. I believe it would also work if you had a motorized wheelchair. There is also another meadow that is reached by the woodland trials that have roots and rocks. No campfires allowed. There are a few nice benches throughout the trail system. There are also 2 very big, old trees in there - both oaks, I believe.

Definately wear sturdy walking shoes. Be sure to take insect repellent. Most of the area is shaded so sunblock isn't necessarily needed unless you sit in a sunny part of the meadows.

There is a new trail there recently added. The place is absolutely beautiful. It's never really crowded and it's fun to bring the kids. I've gone here with family and friends several different times. Great place to take pictures and make memories with people you care about. Never once a dull moment it's easy to fool people that the owl on the entrance is real which is always comical. A good place to go bird watching as well if that is something that interests you. Usually maintained well. Can go during all seasons its usually pretty in the winter as well. If you enjoy nature trails I recommend it if you're in the...

Such a peaceful place! Not very crowded in my experience Very easy hike with barely any elevation gain, so it is perfect for beginner hikers, pets, family outings. Through the trail, there are benches for quiet moments with nature. There are several glorious oaks, one is over 250 years old and another close to 200. A pretty little stream leads to a very picturesque waterfall whenever the water level isn't too low. You can even grab a picnic basket and have a picnic on one the fields
