Black Lake — Attraction in Town of Macomb

Have been a twice a year cottage renter for the past 40 years .good panfish in spring and fall with many bass fisherman trying their luck. Many cottage rentals available with boat and pontoon rentals also. Latest visit beginning 8 may 21 showed cold water (51°) untill the end of the week.. end of week temp went up4-5°. High water also due to heavy rains the previous week. Most cattages are rated as light housekeeping. You need to bring everything you may need or use. I did not catch any fish that was a keeper. I was there for 2 hot weeks. The boat broke down and we joke about it. While we were hoping we would get back in with it. We still had fun. We went to the winery we met up with friends and the campground they was at and cooked out. I had a chance to go to a weather station for the first time and to see what it look like. I almost forgot they did wine tasting...

So under utilized. This is a stunning resource and well worth the trip. The swimming is a challenge but maybe if more folks (not too many ) discover this magnificent place there will be more effort invested in carving out spots for swimming .
