Not a bad mountain. It's less than half the price of major ski areas like Whiteface. However, for any advanced skier, it's not very challenging. On a lot of trails, you can simply point your skis downhill and go to the bottom without having to turn; sometimes you stop and have to push. There are some steep slopes, glade trails, and moguls to keep you entertained. The lodge is nice and there's almost always a real wood fire burning to warm up by.
They have lessons available and the instructors are very good. There's also tubing on the weekends, which is a lot of fun.
Today we had a very poor experience. The middle mountain was closed, even though their website said it was open. They were building a snowmobile race course on the main face, and scraped a lot of snow off the other trails to build it. This left the conditions very icy and most trails closed. We only stayed an hour and a half and felt ripped off. However, this is the only time out of many that we had a bad experience.
We go here often to allow the less than advance skiers/boarders in our family to still...
Read moreGreat place for families for sure. Only reason I am giving this place 3 stars is because they weren't enforcing covid rules. There are signs that clearly state masks must be worn, yet there were still some that did not have them on and no workers saying anything. When you go inside the eatery it was way overcrowded for social distancing. I found myself going through the exit door next to the bathrooms instead of going back out through the front because I was too afraid to go through tables of unmasked people and those walking around with and w.o masks. When asked an employee if there was anyone enforcing I was given a simple answer of employees tell them to put it on but they take it off when they get at the end of their tubing or skiing. They've found themselves fighting with these pple . So I guess they just given up? I don't understand why these people aren't just kicked out. Very disappointing. Found myself having to navigate my family in...
Read moreProbably my favorite resort. I have a pass at Whiteface and do really enjoy it there(it's also eay closer for me) but nothing tops the charm of Titus imo. It's hard to explain unless you went but I would just say whiteface and gore feel very corporate compared to Titus. Riding at Titus feels like you're actually in nature having some fun on the snow. Maybe it's because the trails are narrower but it just feels very rustic. Lifts and facilities are rustic too. Not the most challenging terrain ever but enough to keep even experienced riders/skiers having fun. There's some steeps but sometimes you need to ride flat trails to access them so definitely wax! It's a real short walk from parking to the lodge/lifts, pretty cheap lifts tickets/food and the lift lines are really short. No...
