This is not a good college. I regret applying to this school. I thought this school was going to be a good fit for me, but It was not. This school lacks support for students. I was first attracted to this school because of the low tuition as a state college and their location in suburban Utica, but boy was I wrong about this school. I decided not to attend the college after attending an on campus orientation for new graduate students. I recently went to their orientation on campus for new graduate students and it was awful. All the faculty and staff talked about the whole time was how they have caught online students cheating and the mechanism they have put in place in blackboad to catch students cheating such as plagiarism software such as Turnitin and Safeassign. They also talked about adding Respondus Lockdown Browser to blackboard during an exam and online proctors such as ProctorU. They appeared gleefully as they talked about catching students cheating and expelling them from the college. It seem as though they took it as some type of cat and mouse game they relish in. Another one of the presenters that was from career services name Sim J. Covington Jr was rude and belligerent and constantly promote himself, boasting, bragging, toot his horn and putting down the students. It was disgusting. He did not need to put students down to make himself look good. He kept saying I can't believe you people are graduate students and were accepted into the college. You people act like undergraduates. But meanwhile their infrastructure is dismal. They don't even have direct deposit for students financial aid refunds. They are still mailing checks out to students. Don't go to this school, go to a school where staff and faculty care about your success and have more of a positive impression of students and don't see students as a bunch of liars and cheats. The staff and faculty seem to have a low impression of students. The staff and faculty seem under paid and grudgeful and resentful...
