Morgan Falls is listed as 100 percent handicap accessible, however it is not. I would list it as 95 percent accessible. There is handicap parking available and restrooms. The trail is gravel with a very gradual up hill walk toward the falls from the parking lot and is for the most part accessible to a handicapped individual in either a wheelchair or motorized wheelchair or scooter with a few exceptions. There are bridges crossing the stream at several locations along the hike and a few if them have a tall lip to get onto the bridge. If a individual in a wheelchair or motorized wheelchair/scooter is by themselves there would likely be difficulties getting over the vertical lips, of which some are 4 inches tall. There is also a short portion of the trail that quite steep, perhaps 20 degrees or so that has quite a few tree roots projecting from it. Going up and down this 30 yard stretch of the trail for someone pushing someone in a wheelchair or a handicapped individual hiking alone would be a bit of a challenge. An athletic handicapped person would probably not have much of an issue. At the falls themselves, it is nearly impossible for a individual in a wheelchair or motorized wheelchair/scooter to get up close to the falls due to a old stone stairway and extensive tree root exposures due to erosion. There is a flat, dirt viewing place within 50 feet of the falls. I hiked this with a friend who is nearly 100 percent wheelchair bound who has a scooter she can ride on to get around and I had to lift her scooter up to get it over the lips on a few of the bridges and push her up the steep portion. I commend those who have done the extensive work to make the nice little hike far more accessible to the handicapped then it used to be, but there is a bit more work that needs to be done. Fully handicapped accessible means a handicapped individual should be able to navigate parking, washrooms and the trail without any assistance.

This is definitely off the beaten path. The walk to the falls and back is a nice 1.6 miles. Nice gravel trails with very few tripping hazards. Parking was $5 self service with decent pit bathrooms at the lot. The walk to the falls is totally worth it. The water in the river was really low and we were worried it was going to be a bust. It was amazing.

Easy hike to falls from parking lot. The water fall cascades through a narrow gorge over mossy covered boulders. It is epic! If you are feeling energetic continue on the hike to Saint Peter’s Dome. This hike is rigorous as you gradually gain elevation to the rock outcropping at the top. Views of Ashland and Lake Superior in the distance

Considering this place is down a somewhat narrow, quiet dirt road, I didn’t expect such a big paved parking lot, clean vault toilet, and really well maintained trail. They’ve obviously put in a lot of work (new bridges that still smell new) recently and it is a great spot to hike! Easy, relatively flat 1.5 miles round trip to the falls, and a somewhat strenuous 4.2 miles round trip to the dome. Both are very much worth the hike! I was pleasantly surprised to see about 10 other groups here...

Great hike to Morgan Falls and the Dome. Snow was still melting so a little mushy in some areas and lots of little streams along the way. It's not super hard but the trail does have lots of rocks and roots. I'm a slowish hiker and took me about an hour to get to the Dome. It would be amazing in the fall! Parking is easy. Don't forget to pay the $5 fee (honor system) for the upkeep...
