This could have been five stars, but having visited the old visitor's center, there are a few things that they missed. In my younger years, it was great watching the ships go through and having a burger and fried...... First off, bring back a concession snack bar, hot dogs, hamburgers, veggie options, whatever! Great effort made, but the parking lot looks awful. Understand the over-secure parking area via 9/11, but really, there is a tunnel under the lock to begin with, think about that! Bring back the old school experience that made this tourist and locals destination amazing. Some old-school things can still be applied to make it safe and secure for the Power Authority & everyone. That being said, nice work on the new visitor's center! But long overdue, at least open some type of guided tour option that includes seeing Snell Lock once again, too see one ship go through one lock then the other, you don't know what you are missing! Also-see my new views on the 'newer' power dam experience...

This is also a very nice place to get up close photos. A bonus is that as the ships pass the bay, they send in a surge of water which is really interesting to see, as it comes in almost like a tide does. It has to be seen to be...

The new visitor center is so nice! After entering and answering a few questions if you have any weapons and the like, you can go behind to the new center. It’s really cool. Lots of interactive exhibits that are very informative and fun. And the views of the lock are so great. We didn’t see any ships while there, a ship was stuck in the River blocking traffic. If you call them they can tell you if any...
