Lutz Family Farm — Attraction in Town of Medina

Been visiting this farm to pick our own strawberries for 3 years now. Everyone who works here is really nice. But very disappointed in the taste of the strawberries this year! Very bitter, an almost chemical taste ...not sweet at all! and they were washed really well. They looked so good right after they were picked but after refrigerating them for just a day or two they looked awful . I had to throw out almost half of them. I paid almost $30.00. My sister picked with me too and said the same thing. Anyone else feel the same? Will I be back next year...not sure!...

Have picked 5+ years in a row, 2024 was a bad year for strawberries in Wisconsin, disease, flavor, crop failure. Bring pickers along, a sun hat, water, set a picking goal, take a break half way, know what you will do to lock in the freshness of good smaller strawberries, it is a great experience. I like to flash freeze and bag them, but you can make jar jelly (more work), or make freezer jelly (less work). If I stick with it and start in the AM I can put away two heaping...

We bought a flat of berries and picked them up Thursday afternoon. Got home 30 min later, put them in the refridgerater. When we cleaned them the next morning, we found them to be over ripe and very small. super disappointed..We do Not recommend these Berries., especially for the price 42.00. Please everyone look for better quality...
