Refreshing lake though with very limited range of swimming, and subject to occasional algae blooms despite running agitators. The beach and changing rooms are clean. The parking lot has space for roughly forty cars. The park's entrance from Route 199 is paved, but the approach from North Knob Hill Road is unpaved and bumpy, so please do not attempt this if not in a 4WD. There is a lovely gazebo, pleasant hiking trails and a playground with modern equipment.

Went to the splash pad last month. It's great for what it is. Very simple, clean and offers actives and amenities right near by. Splash pad is a concrete pad with a bunch of water play options. The beach is right next door. The bathrooms are also right next door. There are 2 gates that both close and latch. The whole splash pad is fenced in. There is also some seating in and around the splash pad. The park itself looks well kept and clean.

Camped here for a week and we loved it. Park Manager and all the staff were great. Beautiful swimming lake, boating, lots of trails and Frisbee golf available. They have electric and non-electric camp sites. Dog friendly as well. Lovely shaded play ground for kids. Nice picnic tables around beach area. Highly recommend and look forward to returning. Check their website and FB Page for more info.

I’ve been to Wilcox many times over the last five years or so, usually to play disc golf. The park is scenic, out-of-the-way enough to not be packed with people on the weekends, and offers a variety of different activities year-round. There’s hiking, swimming, boating, fishing, camping, picnicking, cross-country skiing, and disc golf.

The disc golf course has a full 18 holes plus an additional “Hatchet 9” which takes you deeper into the woods but is definitely worth playing. There’s a good variety of forested and open terrain and it’s one of my favorite courses to play with my friends.

Swimming is seasonal and is occasionally not available due to algae blooms. There are a number of picnic shelters and pavilions that can be reserved. There are tent and RV campsites but they have to be reserved ahead of time.

Overall Wilcox is worth a visit, especially if you want a quieter place to explore or play with...

I love fall camping, honestly most of the time people dont know what they are missing. In this case it was good that it was fall and nobody was around. We will start with the lovely staff... Never have I come across a more disgruntled county employee before at a park. It might be time to retire, she was not helpful and did not explain how things worked at the park. The facilities are probably better at the Dutchess County Jail. 27 campsites and 1 shower for men 1 for women. They are poorly lit and smell horrible. The dark, damp concrete buildings are in bad need of updating.. The Park itself is nicely maintained and I am sure is a great place for a local family to go for a day at the Beach. This is really the only reason I would give...

First time visitor - visiting to play disc golf.

A very large park with a lake and lots of BBQ areas - overlooking lake and beach area (sand and roped off swim zone - currently not open for swimming 5/25) is a very large grassy hill - where some folks were walking thier dog. Very limited parking - centralized next to lake area.

Disc golf - well layed out challenging course . The hole layouts are clear with sinage to next hole. I played the first 18 holes (baskets) most holes have two baskets (red short, blue long) and two t pads - give you the opportunity for multiple layouts. Warning lots of climbing and steep down paths - no hands required - not a...
