I’ve been to Wilcox many times over the last five years or so, usually to play disc golf. The park is scenic, out-of-the-way enough to not be packed with people on the weekends, and offers a variety of different activities year-round. There’s hiking, swimming, boating, fishing, camping, picnicking, cross-country skiing, and disc golf.
The disc golf course has a full 18 holes plus an additional “Hatchet 9” which takes you deeper into the woods but is definitely worth playing. There’s a good variety of forested and open terrain and it’s one of my favorite courses to play with my friends.
Swimming is seasonal and is occasionally not available due to algae blooms. There are a number of picnic shelters and pavilions that can be reserved. There are tent and RV campsites but they have to be reserved ahead of time.

The facilities are probably better at the Dutchess County Jail. 27 campsites and 1 shower for men 1 for women. They are poorly lit and smell horrible. The dark, damp concrete buildings are in bad need of updating.. The Park itself is nicely maintained and I am sure is a great place for a local family to go for a day at the Beach. This is really the only reason I would give...

Disc golf - well layed out challenging course . The hole layouts are clear with sinage to next hole. I played the first 18 holes (baskets) most holes have two baskets (red short, blue long) and two t pads - give you the opportunity for multiple layouts. Warning lots of climbing and steep down paths - no hands required - not a...
