This past Sunday, 22 Dec, we traveled to Keuka Springs winery which had one car and one bus in the parking lot. We were cheerfully greeted by the person behind the cash register when we entered, we spent ten minutes picking out gifts and then stood at the tasting table. The same person that greeted us quickly moved us next to the only other people doing a tasting, provided the tasting list and told us that the guy behind the bar would be taking care of us. After picking our selections we waited and then waited some more while the server was totally engrossed in conversation with the mother and daughter standing next to us. We endured listening to him tell them where he was born and that he had lived in Napa Valley, basically his life story. All the while the daughter kept saying 'really' batted her eyes and giggled at every word that came out of his mouth while he made sure that their glasses were kept full. He never once acknowledged us or even made eye contact, remember we were standing absolutely next to them and were the only other people at the table. After watching an overweight middle aged man try to make time with a 30 year old intoxicated girl, we left without making any purchases. I realize that a server has to be friendly and accommodating but what I witnessed was totally unprofessional and more in line with a pickup bar than a quality winery. Hopefully the owners will see they have a problem and make the necessary corrections to bring this winery back to the level they where in the past. Two stars because I know the wines are good and there is a nice...
Read moreWhat a beautiful winery!! The view of the lake is outstanding. This winery has done a complete overhaul and major expansion from the grounds to their facilities. Upon arrival we were met by a very welcoming young lady named Hillary. She offered us a taste of what would be a major purchase for all in our party. She was very engaging and told us about the food truck on site, mentioned the out door music that they offer and we talked about the outdoor tasting area (which is a superb use of space). The outside is so enjoyable to buy a few bottles and share with friends. We did purchase food from the food truck and it was delicious. We tried the smash burger, a chicken wrap and a grilled cheese sandwich all of which were delicious and the fries were cooked in beef tallow and had a very good taste to them. We then ventured into the tasting room which is beautiful. A lovely woman named Joy did our tasting. She was very friendly and welcoming. She was able to answer our questions as well as let us enjoy our tasting. She was very engaging with us. Overall, it was a lovely day spent at Keuka Spring Winery. ( As a side note, when we were leaving it was raining pretty hard and Hillary offered to walk me to the car under her umbrella. It’s the little things that make the difference in...
Read moreThis weekend my bridal party and myself came to experience Keuka Springs. We came shortly before tasting ended but Tammy - who was AMAZING, fit us in. She was so sweet and knowledgeable about what wines to sample for our tasting and we had a fantastic time. Unfortunately, during purchases of multiple bottles - Rosè was very rude to us - stating “well I didn’t have a glass of wine today” to our designated driver (who also didn’t have a glass either). Upon leaving the bottle shop, we were told to take some blankets and hang out by Tammy so we did (again she was amazing !!!!). But as we were walking to the car to place the case of wine we bought we were followed by Rosè, who then accused us of stealing the blankets - when we planned to stay and enjoy the live music. To top it off, we were given the wrong bottles for our case and when we went to exchange for the correct bottles, Rosè stated “well was it on me or on you” even though I handed her an order form… After all this, we just decided on leaving. All other staff members were AMAZING and so was the wine. We have all worked in sales and understand people have bad days, but every interaction with this woman...
