I know I went during the health crisis but the indoor atmosphere could still have used a little more ambiance; it was not terribly appealing. The outdoor patio was jambed up with a lot of tables and chairs, which again, with the health crisis, is probably not a good idea although patrons tried to self-distance as much as possible. Maybe some planters or yard art could have served 2 purposes out there. Of course, being situated right next to train tracks didn't do much for me either. Thought the tasting samples in tiny plastic condiment cups were a little puny, especially for $1.00 each. Definitely a money maker for them based on those portions. The "Wisconsin Cheese Tray" for $16 had very thinly sliced mystery meat (Capicola?) accompanied by many thick slices of Muenster cheese only. To me, "Wisconsin Cheese" should be more than just 1 cheese variety. Maybe some grapes, nuts, or olives too but nope. Muenster and Capicola with some okay artisan crackers. Wines were really not anything to write home about, including the blush of which I usually purchase a bottle or 2 before leaving. Traditionally I also struggle with which and how many bottles to take home - I normally try to limit to half a case. The Traminette was the one and only winner today. No high pressure sales which was refreshing but employees didn't seem really interested in the customer either. Additionally, the majority of the customers walked out/away without buying a single bottle after their tasting samples; sorry but I think that says a lot (I was there almost 2 hours). Overall, kind of disappointed especially with a nicer competitor with better wines about a mile away. Not much reason for me to go back here. Obviously, this is only my opinion to which I am entitled. I have been to 100's of wineries around the country, so this is not my first rodeo. So before people get all ugly with my review, I had to be honest especially when there are others around in Milton and Delavan which I believe...
Read moreI’ve never left a review in my life but I can’t believe my horrible experience at this place on July 29th. We came with a group that did wine flights. It was 5:00 and they made a very pointed comment to let us know they closed at 7. Okay, I understand they are reminding us of their hours. Didn’t take offense at all. Then they give my boyfriend his first flight and he ordered a red, but they served him a white, so he asked “is this mine?” to which the girl responded very sarcastically with “it’s your glass, so I’d assume it’s yours.” I then had to stop her again and ask if she was sure this was the cranberry wine he ordered, and she apologized but said it was due to my boyfriend’s handwriting. For the second flight, he told the girl the name of his wine while she was trying to look for it on his list and she says “I can read.” We were also reminded about four or five times that they closed at 7 — and were told we couldn’t sit outside because of the temperature (86). The final interaction was being told we needed to “skiddaddle” at 7:07 (with half a glass of wine left and a packed room of other customers) because the girl “just wanted to go home.” I’m not at all exaggerating — this is all word for word, as I work in the service industry as well and understand how things can be misunderstood and hard on servers. I never complain, especially not on reviews, but this experience was unbelievable to me. Especially at a winery, I’ve never been treated this way. This was also our second time going and were treated rudely the first time too, as well as rushed out before closing. The place is beautiful, but not worth this...
Read moreWhat a disappointment. We were treated so poorly by a bartender (girl) with an attitude. We didn't feel welcome, were scolded for selecting 3 wines from the bins by the counter without assistance and endured a pattern of rude indifferent attitude. There was no one at the counter. We had to stand in a certain place, there were no stools to sit on after our considerable journey to this destination spot. Miss Attitude did bring us stools from somewhere else. Three of us did the wine tasting and Miss A didn't smile, was rude, ordered us to stand in certain places, said we couldn't sit at tables, left residual wine from previous selection in the glass and just poured new wine on top of it. I asked kindly that she rinse the glass and if we could have water to drink between tastings...well if looks could kill, I'd be dead. All 4 of us were disturbed by Miss A's behavior and continual snubbing, zero smile and rude treatment that we told blonde owner lady to not let Miss A serve us for the rest of our tasting experience. Though nice, Kim (owner) made excuses for her and did not keep Miss A away as requested. Miss A ruined our time at Timber Hill. Its a beautiful new building. Unfortunately they did not have one of the wines we wanted. This employee has got to go if you want your business to be a success. You just can't have an attitude and treat people poorly and expect them to come back. We will never be back. We advise others to not take the chance of a day ruining visit...
