When we planned to spend a few days in Glens Falls, my husband did an internet search for hikes. We liked the sound of the OK Slip Falls. The morning was very misty so we didn't start hiking until 11:30. There was plenty of room in the small car park.
The trail is exceptionally well maintained, with plank bridges laid over muddy spots. There are a number of small streams to cross, all with stepping stones. The forest is mostly well grown mixed deciduous, so there are many roots in the trail, along with stones. We had to take care because most of the roots and stones were under a thick layer of fresh fallen leaves.

Read moreSuch a beautiful place for just hiking or camping which ever you like the most. Plenty of bodies of water and rivers to go rafting in or swimming in if you really like to do things like that also plenty of places to go fishing. There are many designated camping spots throughout the wilderness area so all you need to bring is your supplies and there are benches and etc. just waiting to be used by campers. This environment is straight up back country where it can be hard to get to with a regular card and there is a potential of bears but that is like everywhere in the Adirondacks. Definitely recommend going to this place for camping because it is awesome and the best with a good group of...

Good trail for dogs as there were 3-4 creeks along the way providing drinking water for the dogs. We did not venture all the way to the gorge as we enjoyed the view of the falls from...
