Sparrow Hill Farm — Attraction in Town of Monroe

I found this farm online while looking locally for a place to buy a whole hog in NH. My wife’s family owned a dairy farm in Maine. Her uncle is the only one of the family still left who farms and he is getting old so he switched to an organic farm and raised beef cattle instead. We have been getting our beef from her farm and I tasted a significant difference in flavor between store bought beef and beef from a small grass fed farm. I decided to try sparrow hill even though they are across the country from me because they are also a small family farm, they care about the quality of there food, and I like that they are returning the land to productivity. Anyway onto the quality of the pork. I expected it to taste different than store bought but I did not expect it to be as flavorful as it was. The difference between grass fed beef and normal store bought is great but the difference between the pork here and at the store is even greater. When cooked I could even eat the fat if I wanted to the meat wasn’t tough it was juicy and easily cut. The bacon and sausage are amazing. I slow cooked a roast the other day and used very minimal seasoning and it came out with so much more pork flavor than I ever had with store bought pork. When ordering it was very easy to tell them what cuts I wanted and they helped to make a better decision. All that to say this family raises a great product that they care about that...

When we first moved here, we were really struggling to find my favorite, very specific cut of steak that I've come to find is very uncommon in the Midwest. We found Sparrow Hill Farm's stall at the farmers market and the man working the stall (I'm sorry, I don't remember his name because my partner is the one who always speaks with them!) mentioned that he doesn't have it often, but when he does, he'd let us know. We exchanged information and not long after, we got an email saying that Sparrow Hill had some, and it was better than my little California heart could ever have imagined. Online ordering experience is intuitive, product pictures are helpful, I've used shared recipes many times (and have injected use of my Instant Pot to reduce cooking/grilling time), I loooove the addition of poultry/fish/sausage, cost estimates always on point. Your mail delivery packaging solution is awesome!...meat and fish have always been frozen solid, even when a box spent the night outside in July because I was out of town! Advice-one time only delivery was too speedy and the box arrived a day before the delivery date presented in the online order confirmation. I wasn't home to intercept the box but all was well (frozen solid!) when I got home because of the amazing packaging.
