This is a 180-acre passive use park that helps to tell the story of the Erie and Cayuga Seneca Canals and the challenges of working in the Cayuga Marshes. There is no building or welcome center. Nor is there any on duty staff. However, you will often run across one of the many volunteers that help to keep the park maintained. There are a number of trails and sites to visit. Most of the sites have information signage, and there are three larger kiosks at the Chapman Road, High Street trailheads, and the Route 31 parking lot. These have maps and provide an overview of the park. There are a couple Porta potties at the two trailheads and a more substantial pit toliet at the Rt 31 lot. The nearest store is in Port Byron or at the Rt 20/90 intersection, so bring your supplies. This park is not affiliated with the Montezuma Wildlife Refuge. It is a town park that abuts the MWR. There is also access from the Seneca River with easy beaching areas...
