Northern Montezuma Wildlife Management Area — Attraction in Town of Montezuma

I live in Montezuma, close to the refuge. It's great that this place exists but if you're expecting to see animals here, you will be disappointed. If you're lucky you will see a few Canadian geese. I have been many, many, many times out of boredom. If you are looking to see the egals are there are a lot of better places around Montezuma to see them, especially up and down...

A refuge is a safe place for wildlife to rest and feed. Montezuma is not one of those places. Poor marsh management resulting in habitat destruction favors a yearly oduck population each fall but drives other resident wildlife away by destroying the food web. And if you're a duck, be careful!...
