This is perhaps the only public space that offers a nice view of the Owasco Lake from its southern side. I am pleasantly surprised that the lake doesn't turn grey when it is raining. Instead, it is tinged with a light turquoise blue hue. However, it is quite unsettling to drive half a mile over a narrow unpaved gravel road to reach the vintage point (especially if you don't drive a bigger vehicle like a jeep or a truck).    Read moreI love the Owasco Inlet, have been coming here over fifty years. We camped down here for 40 years straight on Pike season opener, it was a family tradition. And all those years we came in and cleared the fishing spots, picked up all the garbage from the previous years partiers and delinquents, cut back the Poison Ivy, and laid down straw to keep the sites dry and help stop erosion. Somebody put up a tourist sign and who do you think got kicked out... Yup, the pike fishing families that did all the work every year. Way to go...
