After seeing Hurd Orchards beautiful venue in person I inquired about having my ceremony and reception at their location. They put me in contact with their wedding coordinator (Molly Machamer). It took almost 2 weeks for her to respond to my inquire and she only did so after I personally called the owner asking why it had taken so long. I asked about the date I was interested in and after weeks of delayed response she told me the date was open. I wanted to lock it in and asked for the deposit contract ($2500) so my fiance and I could sign and begin our planning. After 4 weeks of no response I inquired again to which she still has not written back. I have NEVER experience such terrible service, especially after accepting the expensive terms of their contract! All other wedding venues got back to me within days, sometimes hours! I found out she lives in NC, has multiple jobs and plans weddings on the side. Since this would have been potentially the most important day of my life all I asked was for a bit of respect towards that and simple communication. I even wrote her saying I don't care if she responds with one sentence but to please get back to me. Not only was I shocked but so were my other service providers (photographer, DJ, Bar catering staff) since they all got back to me within days! When she did respond she told me to relax, that a year is more than enough time and to not stress over it.....umm WHAT!? To any potential bride please avoid this venue until they are able to hire someone who can properly plan your wedding and give you the attention that any bride deserves during the very special planning process! Till this date she STILL has not gotten back to me which is why I am writing this review. Not only did her lack of response prevent me from securing this location, it also hindered me locking in other places since she told me Hurd Orchards would be available. Over all Molly Machamer has been rude, inconsistent and terrible at communicating! FUTURE...
Read moreThis is honest feedback from someone who has been going here for four years. The donut peaches are delicious, but the u pick experience is not worth it. Starting with the fact that you can only pick an 8 qt size for $30, which for a small family is very large and overpriced. I would not find too much of a problem with that if the upick experience was good, but unfortunately I don’t find that it is. The rows between are littered with smashed fruit and it is infested with bees, some is to be expected but there are tons. The rows are given no upkeep and are unmowed making it hard to walk through especially with young ones, on top of worrying about getting stung the entire time. The women working the store are nice enough, however I think the spiel they give every customer (even if you’ve heard it from the people ahead of you or been there before) is unnecessarily long, last visit we waited 20 minutes in line just to get a crate while they explained it to every single person/group. When checking out today they asked for feedback so I gave them this honest feedback and they were defensive about it, clearly they only want feedback if it is good and what they want to hear. We won’t be returning anymore, plenty of other u pick places and...
Read moreLooking forward to Sunflower Wreath making day with friends, unfortunately it certainly did not work out very well. Actually very disappointed! Staff was very friendly and helpful but distribution and management of supplies to complete the project was non existent. There was barely enough room for everyone and we had to move one picnic table twice to get out of sun. We were “rookies” in wreath making which put us at a serious disadvantage. The other group was quick to gather large amount of supplies to make full vibrant wreaths, while we were forced to make due with what was available. We asked for certain items which was ignored and on more than one occasion was expected to use what was there and don’t waste what was there. That was bad enough but by the time we were ready for the Sunflowers, we were shocked to see they were for lack of a better word DEAD!!! The staff was trying to placate us by hot gluing petals on. The wreath looked bad enough when we finished but really awful the next day. $65 was a huge waste of time and money and the owner was very dismissive of our needs to complete the project to our satisfaction....
