Vines & Rushes Winery — Attraction in Town of Nepeuskum

Forget the ordinary! Vines & Rushes elevates the winery visit with personal touches you won't find elsewhere. Kathy's insightful tasting made us feel like VIPs, taking the time to understand our preferences and recommending the perfect wines for each of us. She really knew her stuff! The unique wine names, each with heartfelt backstories, truly resonated and added a special touch to the experience.

But it was the "Little Warrior" that truly captured our hearts. This effervescent Petite Pearl Rosé, with its beautiful pink hue and refreshing bubbles, is a quintessential warm-weather wine that needs no pairing – just good friends to share it with! And knowing that a portion of the proceeds supports childhood cancer research makes every sip even more satisfying.

The dual atmosphere at Vines & Rushes caters to every mood. We loved the cozy lounge with its fireplace, perfect for intimate fireside chats, but the open-concept space with a stage for local musicians also looked inviting. If you are interested in a winery tour with extensive history of how this winery is so prestigious featuring fancy people throwing around words like bouquet this is not that kind of winery. If you are interested in a fun stop with some girlfriends (or guy friends or just family) by all means, this is that kind of winery. Two friends and I happened upon this winery after stopping by an antique and salvage shop a few towns over that was part of a winery and antiques tour. When we pulled up the place doesn't have the snooty air that some winery's do, it looks like a family farm stand with the vines off to the left and a red barn looking country store. Inside was an informative wine tasting, friendly staff, and a positively relaxing environment. My friends and I tasted the wines and selected our purchases. The staff opened the bottle of wine we were having there and loaned us a cheese knife and cutting board. This was an accidental GEM!! Flew into Milwaukee and driving to Osh Kosh we had the pleasure to pop in for a spot of wine tasting. Friendly staff who gave us great history and explanation of the wines. Discovering we were from out of town, they informed us that they SHIP!! 10 days after leaving we received our box of wine.

The location is spacious with outdoor seating and views of the vineyards. And while they only grow 4 type of grapes here, their wines are blended with grapes ONLY grown in Wisconsin. The building is absolutely ginormous. Catering to happy hour, girls night, and date nights. Wood fire pizza oven and bar on one side and plenty of additional seating on the other side.

This would be a great location to host a baby or bridal shower, company lunch or family get together. Live music most weeks and you’d better not leave without perusing the store for knick knacks and snacks. If I ever find myself in these parts again, Vines & Rushes is...
