This is a fantastic museum! My son and I travel to every Aerospace museum we can and this tour was incredible. It's not every day you find a docent from the area. Who's a pilot and was a history teacher and is so passionate about what he does. David Faix is a national treasure, and The Niagra Aerospace Museum is lucky to have him . He was very interactive with my son , directing questions to him and and just letting him become immersed in some of the interactive experiences. There are not a ton of experiences I that regard however there is a nice little children's area with various airplane related activities for any of your aviation kiddos. What also makes this museum great is the incredible view of the run ways right out back. You can see airplanes departing and arriving of various sizes and types all day . Not to mention there is a whole section of correspondence, and historical documents on the other side which is very neat. Last but not least they have a P 39 that was salvaged from a lake near Norway and after 60 years it was brought home and a solider was finally laid to rest. It was a really neat story and to see this in a museum up close with all the pictures and to have all the history behind it was just special. Please be sure to make a point to visit this was such a wonderful experience . We need more people like David Faix who make experiences like this that much better. Thank You Niagara Aerospace Museum, we...
Read moreA cute little museum, rich in history on airplanes, space shuttles and everything else in-between! My partner and I had a very fin time touring through the exhibit. We saw many different plane models as well as historic figures and other engaging timelines on how our modern day airplanes have come to be as it is. The staff there are friendly and welcoming, and the price to enter wasn't bad (I suggest buying the groupon deal, if it's still up). The place was neat and orderly, though beware that some models and artifacts cannot be touched. Photography is welcome, and the main entrance has many items on sale, ranging from souvenirs, posters to children's toys. There were also refreshments when we visited, during the weekday and it is mostly empty at that time. One section of the museum also has interactive activities, where you can try steering an airplane, or landing a space shuttle all done on a simulator game. There is a kids play area too. Overall, I recommend this little gem for anyone interested in the aerospace field, as the title suggest. It's great for a quick activity and a stopover if you're travelling in between the...
Read moreI took my son to experience the museum. He is 12, grade 6, and recently became fascinated with airplanes and helicopters. The experience was very positive. It took 40 minutes to drive my East Aurora. Once we arrived, we were asked if we wanted to have a tour which was given by an older gentlemen with over 40 years of flight and aircraft engineering experience. He was a treasure trove of knowledge and insights. He was kind and was a great detailed story teller. The exhibits were filled with real life models and stories about origin of aircraft manufacturers from Buffalo. My son was wife eyed and fully engaged for 2 hours taking in every little detail about each exhibit. The front desk folks were kind enough to allow us to return after lunch where we spent the 2nd part on the simulators and watching the video documentary. I would recommend this for any flight enthusiast or anyone who is looking to learn more about Buffalo and the role Buffalo played in early aircraft design...
