Surprisingly, my first visit to cranberry Lake Preserve … and I only live 4 miles away 🤔 There’s limited parking along the narrow looped entrance road into park … and it was a beautiful Fall Saturday afternoon , so folks were definitely out enjoying this beautiful park. We parked right in front of the Nature Lodge … ⭐️ on trail map - available in map box close to lodge. As busy as it seemed, as soon as we got 100’ past the lodge on the yellow trail, we’d only occasionally run into a passerby. There are several loops available, covering several different types of terrain including forest, marsh, and a large pond. There's also an old stone quarry which you can climb up as part of your loop. It's a bit challenging with a toddler on your back but certainly manageable.
We've seen all manner of wildlife here including: fish, snakes, turtles, frogs, and occasional deer.
Word to the wise: the most common creature here is the MOSQUITO, especially near the water during the summer. Make sure to bring bug spray or hustle through the marshy portion...
