Great trails with some of the better views in the High Peaks. The trailhead is near the end of a long dirt road that was very bumpy, but well-worn and plenty wide. Public parking at the trailhead is limited and fills up quickly on the weekends. The trailhead is on a private easement, so respect the land owners and don't park along the road or in the marked private lots. The overflow lot is marked and about 2 miles south on the dirt road

The view from Dix is quite possibly the best of the high peaks. Going up the beckhorn trail and down the Macomb slide isn't bad at all if you're familiar with typical high peaks hiking / trail conditions.

Me and my 9 year old son spent the night near Slide Brook(I think that's what it was called). We hiked all 5 peaks the second day. We had a great time but it was exhausting and a little cloudy.

Hiked a loop over five 4K summits from this trailhead. Get here early because the capacity is small and the overflow lot adds two miles to your journey in both directions. I hiked the loop in counter clockwise direction summitting Macomb Mountain, Grace Peak, South Dix, Hough Peak, and finally Dix Mountain. Good camping on the way here if you choose to make this into an overnight. It is a long day hike otherwise. Good views from the summits and up the slide...

There was only one parking spot open when I left my truck at 430 am on memorial day weekend. Obviously a very busy trailhead. For good reason tho. It's not a super big parking area. Beautiful mountain range and area...
