For a group that claims to be about supporting the community through parks, events, and charitable causes, the Okauchee Lions Club has completely missed the mark. We’ve hosted three successful ice fishing jamborees here to raise awareness for mental health and suicide prevention—critically important topics that are far too often swept under the rug. You’d think a so-called community organization would be eager to support that. After our first year, the leadership changed, and everything went downhill fast. We were met with pushback, obstacles, and a general lack of support at every turn.
If you’re a nonprofit hoping for collaboration, shared values, or even just basic respect—look elsewhere. This Lions Club talks the talk, but they definitely don’t walk the walk. In our experience, they’re far more concerned with protecting their own interests than actually helping the community. Save yourself the headache. Wouldn't recommend...

Lingered over a stein or two of full-bodied bock beer, enjoyed a flavorful Usinger's brat, and had a slice of traditional bienenstich (bee sting) cake for desert. And all the while, the playful music of Alpine Blast thumped in the background.
Venue was spotless and well-maintained. However, parking was somewhat limited, due to the apparent popularity of this event. Will return earlier in the day to attend similar events...
