This was my first time going on this hike. As a solo female hiker it took me 2 hours and 50 minutes to scramble over the boulders known as the "Giant Stairs." I made sure to go slowly so as to not twist an ankle and I took lots of water breaks. I even took a lunch break and had a sandwich among the boulders. I'm glad I had hiking boots to support my ankles and that I gave myself plenty of time for this hike. I started my hike at 9 am by enjoying the beautiful view from the Lookout. Then I went to the left of the Cafe to start the Long Path going in the opposite direction. I followed the teal blazes or markings on the trees all along trails A,B, and C in that order. I crossed the road to continue on the Long Path. Then I descended down a lot of steps to get to the river. At the bottom I made a right and walked along the water and enjoyed the beautiful fall folloage. Then I backtracked and headed towards the boulders. The steps are uneven and pretty massive at some points, so proper footwear is a must. Also be cognizant that not watching where youโre stepping and falling is potentially very dangerous.
