I grew up with these tunnels. The hikes are easy trails if you know your way around. The tunnels themselves are freakier as I get older. I do not recommend going in the tunnels not because they aren't structurally sound (they're not) but because there are the largest colonies of cave crickets you ever find in those tunnels. It's the stuff of nightmares. The graffiti has gone from rude tagging to straight-up graffiti art. Every time I'm there, there's some new mural to admire. I wouldn't presume it to be haunted or inhabited by cults like some stories suggest but you can get really close to deer and the tunnels are everywhere...each time I go I find new ones, just follow the spray paint and arrows.
